I have one here you can have to cannibalise. It has other problems but it does have a single piece chassis block.

That does look a tidy job and a good start - although I'm not quite sure of the frame widening method.The builder clearly had some idea what he was doing as he'd tried to widen the frames to reduce 'the gap' too!

Chosen which engine.. Hertford East station pilot. Something a little different with the original wooden can and wide tanks, though this was a J67 converted to J69. It was originally an engine sent to Scotland so didn't have the taller roof put on, but it was exchanged for a couple of J67's to work on the Lauder branch, famed for having a tender strapped to the back of them.
