Barbed wire update !
Made an improvement to the "barb " production.
Where would we be without Meccano ?
On the left is the bit that winds the barb, using the wire stored on the reel on the right. running through the middle of it all is the centre wire.
The winding end, the brass tube wraps the barb as you rotate the assy, but you have to make the loop, and hold it still for the next wrap.
It's still a bit tedious but quicker and easier.
I wonder if I could motorize it ?

Quite possibly Mike, although if you look into the history of barbed wire ( which I’m sad to say I have done ) since barbed wire was invented in the 1860s, there have been numerous versions, but most recent types have 4 barbs.
Single wire 2 barb does / did exist so I’ve taken the easy option.
I have looked at the history of corrugated iron and telegraph poles, but I’ll spare you the details

I have a sound card in this Ruston, I disconnected it so I could hear the track noise 
Trouble is the speed controller whistles ( the transmitter batteries are about flat so that was beeping as well ) and in this instance I'm not sure the R/C is the way to go.
I intend insulating all the trackwork so I can go back to basics and decide if track power is the best way to go.

That looks excellent. Wouldnt mind one myself. I can see it looking great with some industrial load strapped down to it.
However I must point out your buffers are 90 degrees off. Though it is hardly noticeable.
