Prairie Tank
Western Thunderer
I decided to build a small O gauge lay out, with the intention of being able to buy and run a few loco's and also to show how easy it is to build a basic lay out and fit O gauge into a small area.
I opted for set track, hand operated points and a shunting lay out based on 'Inglenook Sidings' but with an extra track so I had an excuse to bring on any loco to re coal, take on water or fill up with Diesel.
The lay out is 9'6" by 2'. The length to the tunnel entrance is 7'6" I spent 7 weeks building it from start to a finished working lay out. I am very new to the hobby and am not very skilled so all of what I have done has had to be easy.
It was built on plywood which sits directly on top of draws, it was done like that because I needed to keep my cloths off the floor, apparently lol.
After the 7 week build (photos below show first day and Day 49) I continued to add people and more bushes/trees etc, however this was not needed but I thought it looked better.
My wife as since added curtains to hide the draws.
