In these times of climate change, recycling and save the planet, isn't it nice to see company's helping out.

The following photo's are just typical of many packages I receive, this one also had a 15 page health and safety guide in it, which is Just as well because I had planned to eat the stuff and squirt it into my eyes....NOT. upload_2019-8-9_10-3-45.gif

It needs to be in a big box so they don't lose it in the back of the van........
You mean so that the contents can survive the "Sorter's Football match", don't you?
I did a bit of Agency driving for Parcel Force & Parceline (now DPD) many years ago. I've seen, I know.

Meanwhile, one parcel is such a small drop in a daily, worldwide Ocean of parcels that reducing it's size won't make much difference. The same vehicles have been involved in it's distribution regardless; that's why stuff gets delivered so quickly (normally!!).

RS is notorious for this kind of follies. We ordered 50 PCB-connectors at work and received them packed individually in ESD-plastic bags.

Its simply standardised packaging that can be machine sorted, quicker, more accurate and ultimately cheaper to process.

Its the way logistic's for parcels and packets is going.
