Although I understand your sense of humour mate I think you need to understand how good it looks ...... even in black and white (take the compliment while I'm feeling generous ! ).

Seemingly a never ending task putting the stone tiles on but it'll soon be over. I recall making a model of a thatched cottage in 4mm many years ago, I used plumbers hemp which was combed and made a multitude of "straw type" bunches which were tied off then laid in courses.

It took over two weeks of evenings after work to complete and seemed to be never ending but when finished I felt it was worthwhile.

So there .......

Jesting aside, I am my own worst critic and find getting compliments quite uncomfortable. Strange isn't it?

Good morning to you. I have tried a few different things on the rear roof just to see what works.

What is quite satisfying is the feel of the shape of the roof. Full of little undulations, dips, bulges and unevenness. Definitely not flat and uniform.

Chris, can you place the ridge capping on and see what it looks like, before commiting to fixing it. Personally, I dont think the roofer would have added a further course as the slates meet the ridge and with the cap on it would be waterproof.
