For my part I have inner bogies and etched truss rods in the pipeline, but if anybody could point me in the direction of vac cylinders id be grateful :)

I think that this move is a very good idea given that there seems to be five or six WTers who are building Mk.1s from either Easybuild or NQLTRT. More to the point, we shall all benefit from a central source of information about alternative parts from other suppliers (my question about the Easybuild etch for commode handles) or parts being made by other WTers (the Guv'nor and his light sabre for partitions).

A question for those who are building or have built Mk.1s from Easybuild... what parts have you replaced or added to improve the fit / appearance / accuracy of the model? I am particularly interested in seating / underframe trusses / interior lighting.

regards, Graham

Corridors from JLTRT are rather good. You can buy them separately.

Windows with separate opening vents are due shortly from Shawplan. Brian is having trouble with his etchers at the moment hence the delay. Will post pics as soon as they're in my hands.

Peter Cowling does a nice range of resin cast underframe details such as Dynamo's, Battery Boxes, Gas Bottle lockers etc, He also does coach seats for MK1's if I remember correctly :)

Who else does corridor connections?

Presumably this thread relates to 7mm scale modelling? I say this based on the responses to the OP...

Not quite Mk1 passenger, but general Departmental coach and van usage, is anybody aware of a manufacturer of this heater ventilator?

otherwise, I'll have to get the Lego blocks out to start a mould.:))

I had a look for those too Mike but never found anything. Seeing as this is a MK1 thread, shouldn't you be modelling this one?;)

Mike I am sure the Dolls house makers of the world would have something like this as it is the same as you would find on the outside of a house only the railway has railwayified it

Hi Mike,

It will be nice when Shaun eventually brings one out. The MK1 could keep you firmly out of the 'not quite' for a while hehe

Hi Ian,

thanks for the heads up - there is a shop in Chester that might just have the answer.

Hi Tom,

but in the meantime, there is the Sidelines ex LMS D2046 and quite a few options on Slaters and Parkside vans

A quick shot of the truss im working on, this is not intended to be dead scale, rather an easy to assemble etch for those building lots of Mk1. There are still parts to be added, such as the base and parts for the angle, but you should get the idea. I have specifically chosen not to form the whole truss L angle by folding as I personally find it impossible to fold a 240mm long L section, this way you fold the 100mm center section followed by the angle. iirc MMP use the same method and it is much easier.
If somebody would like to post a shot of an easybuild u/f I can work out if it will fit then as well;)
