I'd like to take this opportunity to post my thanks to Heljan and to anyone who had any part to play in getting them to produce Falcon in 7mm scale.

You have all made an old(er) man very happy.

My thanks to you all.

LOL, I've been away in France......internet, but my own computer down and the wife doesn't like me using her work one for website surfing...I had the news via Facebook, but only got back at 00:12 last night, after a drive from near Limoges.

Exactly......we support THIS one and maybe Lion is next?

I'd have one.......

If HJ does Falcon, then Kestrel... one might expect the next in line to be Merlin. Now that ought to satisfy everyone given that there were six or seven engines which carried that name (and at least one was painted blue ).

He he yeah. One of the 'other' engines was the Bristol Centaurus. Used in the Sea Fury; once you've seen (and heard) one of them fly nothing really comes close...

Having seen the documentary about Captain 'Winkle' Brown last night, the above clip is rather fitting, thanks for posting Pugs.

Merlin No.27 and Merlin No.85 were painted blue at some time.

Then there was Merlin (King Arthur class) and Merlin (BR Std).

Followed by Cl. 47100... likely to have been in blue.

And the GWR Duke named Merlin - which was not blue.

Finally - LNWR Alfred the Great class no. 1978.

Congratulations Jeff, this thread has got to be the most likely candidate for the "far off topic" yet and entertaining to boot.
