And there was me thinking the S in TSR and THST stood for STEAM…….

Just your luck if the Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage Site Steering Committee decided to enforce the use of only Coalbrookedale No 5 on TSR trains in the vicinity of the museum sites :D

Cut? He's bloody scoffed the lot ready for his hols! Something about wanting to bulk up for the ladies  Unless he meant the Greenpeace ladies to make it easier for them to roll him back in to the sea off the beach :))

What's the story of the Ruston numbered D2971? From the extended radiator section of the bonnet it looks like one of the flame proofed 165DS locos supplied to oil refineries and other dangerous places.

You are indeed correct. The extended bonnet housed an exhaust scrubber and the loco was employed at Octel in Ellesmere Port in its former life

Great strides have been made on our resident Class 108 Diesel Multiple Unit 51950 & 52062. Mechanically sound she is now sporting the rather fetching ‘chocolate & cream’ livery which British Rail adopted for the GWR 150 celebrations in 1985. The units have been finished to a high standard and the lining, numbers and roundels were applied this week to finish one side of the units off. Attention will turn to finishing the other sides, if possible, before the darker nights set in. There are only two running days left of the current 2014 season so come along and have a look for yourself and see the excellent work that’s been carried out.

Tomorrow, Sunday 28th Sept, is our last running day of the 2014 season and we are also holding an open day for our existing and potential members to come along and see how they can actively contribute to the railway. So please come along and see how you can support us and enjoy our last running day with us.
