The biggest problem I remember with the early tv's was the orizontal and vertical holds rolling, those little knobs had to be continuously tweaked, does anyone remember the double "H" arials?

BTW our first tv was a 12" Bush :)

Whilst looking at the Ranelagh Bridge thread and various books on D800s I was taken with D845 Sprightly and its unusual warning panels. Having a maroon warship which technically is too late for my layout I decided to do a repaint.
Masking was done with maskol and all transfer and name plates have been taken off
Primed.

name plates and the side stripe were purchased at the Manchester show and an order for numbers, flashes etc went to Modelmasters this morning.

Since I've started work on this repaint/conversion I've discovered that Kernow Models are doing a special edition Sprightly with the small panel and white cab roof. Typical!!!!!!!!!!!!
However I am saving some £100-00. The Kernow model is £164-95 my maroon one cost £40-00 some f or 6 years ago and the etched paltes and decals are about another £20-00. And I will have the satisfaction that it is mine.

Any latest pix of change now in green with small yellow panel.

the photos are not quite as good as I would have hoped.

Slowly getting there
The white stripe added today and the decals I needed also arrived this morning. Although typically it took me half an hour to find where I'd put the nameplates I'd bought at Manchester. Hopefully all will be finished by the end of the week Tomorrow will giv it a coat of Klear to aid putting on the decals.

Anyway the white stripe.

Art masking fluid is good for window areas etc, paint it on and it peels off in one, masking tape can be a bit iffy as you probably know.

The loco's coming together nicely ;)

Hi Alan,
That is turning into a little gem now, well done Sir!
I know what you mean about losing nameplates, I once had to buy (different) replacements as my first choice was so utterly lost.
Cheers,
John.

It has been pointed out to me that the white stripe across the cab should almost end in points so I have rectified this. I'm also thinking of doing some work on the roof to make it look more like a Class 43. There are still things to tidy up before weathering.

Whilst waiting to buy a few bits to complete Sprightly, I've started to back date my D600 Warship 602 Bulldog (Silver Fox Kit) by removing the headcode boxes, thus bringing it into my 1960-64 era.

To make a decent loco, I really need to replace the Lima chassis with a Bachmann Class 37 chassis and after various searches they seem to be as rare as hens teeth. If any one has one I would be more than interested.

How about a Vi-Trains chassis? These seem to be fairly readily available (and complete locos quite cheap). They run well too.
