With the arrival of the Pannier, now is probably a good time for a stocktake (sorry Steph).

Completed or RTR:
  • Ivatt tank built by Peter Cross
  • AC Railbus from Heljan
  • 8750 Pannier tank from Minerva
  • 45xx Prairie tank from Lionheart (on order)
Under construction:
  • O2 from Jim at Connoisseur
  • 1366 from Agenoria
Not started:
  • Beattie Well Tank - a mix of etches and castings from many sources
  • Bulleid Light Pacific from Finney7
  • T9 - interest expressed in the forthcoming (2018) Finney7 kit
On the hit list:
  • N Class - still available from David Andrews?
  • Class 22 63xx - JLTRT?
  • Some older LSWR locos maybe?
So far I'm doing well sticking to the list I made in 2014. I blame Steph and Co for the Bulleid lapse....

One thing I have learned working in 7mm is that it's best to buy things when you see them. Kit ranges disappear, RTR sell out and kits can be limited in production. Considering all this the hunt really should be on for the N Class.

If you want an N, keep a look out for the Sanspareil one. It may be worth a chat with Ace (William Ascough) or even Sanspareil (Ian Young) to find out where it is now...

No point trying to tempt you into a B1 for summer Saturday specials then ;)

Looking back through the thread it looks like I didn't record the arrival of yet more GWR RTR back in April 2017, the Lionheart/Dapol B-set:

Seen here with Peter's Ivatt tank.

SR fans shouldn't worry that I've gone over to the dark GWR side though. Other than the Prairie that's on order, all future stock builds should be well and truly SR.

Having stock from the 'other' company does add operational interest and variety to the layout and buying it RTR doesn't steal time from my main area of modelling interest.

Interesting to see how far the track has progressed in 5 months...

And a big welcome to WT to Paul Cambridge...

Thank you kind sir. Young Chris said once that I was partially to blame for him moving into 7mm scale. Guilty as charged I guess. I’ll start a thread on Kelly Bray, my 7mm piece of BR(S) when I have some fresh photos. The layout’s been in stasis so to speak and needs tidying up and some repair. So don’t hold your breath.

Anyway, Chris, have you thought of a source of plates for 4666 and the 1366 yet?

Narrow Planet etched my plates for my 16mm steamer, which you have seen. Very nice they are too. I used 1600 grit ‘crocus’ paper to polish the top surface of the plates. They also supplied the plates for my SHT Peckett in GWR days. That’s on the to do list though, after the LSWR Brake van and the Fowler 0-4-0DM detailing is finished; another part finished job...:(
