If you're tempted to have a go in the largest scenic scale, this may be of interest:
I've just copied this from the G3 soc website:
Gauge 3 Society AGM will be held on Saturday 10th March, in Parkside Community Hall, Woburn Street, Ampthill, Bedfordshire MK45 2HX.
The 2018 Winter Show will be open from 10:00am to 4:00pm. A donation of £3 is requested from Members attending, to contribute to the cost of putting on the Show. The entrance fee to the Show for non-members will be £4.00. The AGM will be held at 11:00am and is for Gauge '3' Society Members only.

Refreshments and lunch will be available at the show. Bring and Buy stand, members’ display area, Newsletter back numbers, and a vintage model display.
There will also be modelling demonstrations by Unklian, Steve Cooke and Arty

and Arty showed off a sample of his barbed wire (see elsewhere in this forum). It does look very realistic. That fence, when finished, will deserve an article with a front page photo, in MRJ.
I believe the committee were very pleased/relieved with the way it went as well. Although Roy Horrocks pointed out it might have been very different if they'd been able to stick with the usual February date...
I didn't get to see much of it from the car window, but Ampthill itself seemed worth a visit; full of the sort of interested vernacular architecture that you want to include in a layout.

No live steam for me, but I'm sure the larger size would make the detailing easier. Just not sure the size of the current workbench and 7mm biased tools would suffice..
