Added another 3D printer to my workbench and really pleased with the results. Here are some pictures of a Vangaurd loco I contructed in CAD and printed out at 25 microns on my new machine for a client.

Is that printed from a jewellery type printer? Must be to be a 2mm model and look that good. The material colour looks like jewellery masters I've seen at the NEC 3d printing show.

Printed on a jewellery printer with special resin that gives a smooth finish. The model was put through slicing software and saved as a cws file with a layer height of 0.025mm. The print took about three and a half hours then cured in a homemade UV curing box.

That is the best solid print I have seen. Superb. Most are dreadful. The trouble is that for those of us modelling in larger scales (Gauge 3) that quality would be very expensive. I guess the technology will get there one day.

These resin prints are beautiful. I'm only really able to play with the FDM printers at work for my own projects, we've a rather large Projet resin printer... Very expensive to print parts off it though. as much as I'd love to use it as the quality is exquisit in comparison to the Ultimakers we print ABS with.

Just received my newest printer from Nova3D to add to my stable of printers. It has a larger print table, 200x120mm which will allow me to print 4mm coach sides and ends. Will post my results here on the forum.
