7mm Class 24/1 from RTR

I have been thinking about the possibility of bashing a class 24/1 from a Heljan 25/1. The areas that I have identified as needing attention would be the cab roofs , cab doors and the battery box and fuel/water tanks plus filler. There will also be issues with the cab interiors, which I can definitely live with, but is there anything else I have not noticed. I look forward to the collective wisdom
Thanks

Lower part of the cab front is going to need a fair bit of work, although the side skirts got removed off class 24s, the front skirt lived on to the end.

It is amazing how you can look at something and not see the obvious. I am thinking of modelling one of the Inverness 24's right at the end of their working life, and saw that the valancing had been removed , but not the cab sides, so thanks for pointing that out. Delticfan, I had thought about that very plan for cabs and underframe tanks, but do remember The Penguin of Doom's modified class 25 in which he had to cut both cabs about to get the result, which I am not sure I possess the required skill
Thanks for your input

Steve, I’m not usually known for pointing out the obvious and the width and height might not tie in exactly not sure how you could sort that one out maybe someone has a resin cab they could measure for you.

My advice would wait until Heljan do one, it can't be that far away as there aren't many left to do.

That thought had crossed my mind. I could see a market for a 24, but not a 24/1 . It would be much easier to convert though. Thanks to all for the replies.

I have done a 24/1 using a jltrt kit, I wouldn’t fancy doing one from a heljan though!

I can see heljan doing another version of a type 2 but doubt you will see anything quickly as their diary is full of announcements not yet completed.
