Bought: Ixion Hudswell Clarke (black), Roxey GWR Metro kit, sundry Slater's wheels, buffers, brass angle, secondhand mags
Ordered: David Andrews Barry A class in N/S, JLTRT GWR 44xx
Wished for: an extra 30 years to build everything and space to run it all.

Dave

Thanks Dave. Looking forward to seeing the 44xx on the workbench and definitely with you on the last sentence!

I made my first impulse purchase within seconds of getting in the hall as I snapped up Peter Tatlow's second volume on cranes for just £28.

Then I pretty much stuck to my list;

HMRS locomotive transfers
Slaters conflat A
ABC bogie motor for my Grampus Shunter
Big Fibre glass stick for cleaning up my comedy soldering
1/32 wire to replace the wire I'd robbed from my Parkside kits.
Premier screw couplings
Flashing tail lamp kit
And some BR lamps.

Didn't get any sound chips or speakers that I was after. So roll on Telford ;)

I also did my best to spend Mickoo's money for him, but he was strong and let pass a bargin DJH 37 kit complete with bogies, and motors for a song.. :)

Best moment of the show? When Iploffy launched a Model Express GUV across the arena.
Funniest Moment? His expression just after the GUV hit the floor.

Great day had by me too :).........good to catch up with all the old faces & some of the new ones

For once I bought what I intended to buy from Skytrex (our little group had already pre ordered some bulk purchases)

The biggest bargain I saw was a very nicely built BFYE JLTRT Class 46 Peak at £575 (the parts alone would cost you that!)

Phill :)

After resisting Phils urges to spend within a few moments of walking in LOL and yes that 37 was a steal and if I'd not picked up a MMP 56 and 58 mid week from one of our brethren I'd've grabbed it!

Also picked up Tatlows new book, no idea why as I've no plans for a crane (as yet) but am a sucker for a good set of drawings. Further books were D for Diesels #1 (recommended for all 60's diesels fans as are #2 & 3) and Merry Go Round, expensive but very concise and excellent stock drawings too.

Kits;
M&M BCV Bogie bolster C fitted
M&M HTV x2
Connoisseur 20T BR brake van

Sundries;
Solder paste
Flux pen
Brass tube for CSB
Piano wire for CSB
5 thou strip in 1 & 1.5mm to make door handles on 08
HMRS loco transfers, though looking around my study I can't easily see them? Bad cricket that!

Excellent day and and excellent company, I did raise a glass at the bar in a quiet moment to our fallen leader, he'd of been proud of the turn out.

Hi Colin,

Nice to meet up. What model express kits did you aquire ?. Threads please

Steve

I bought two Model Express kits - A Conflat "A" for an 03 match truck, and a wagon labelled "CSV freight stock"(??). It has nice resin moulded canvas sides which I think I can use to create a PVA or PVB "Campbells Soups" wagon. http://paulbartlett.zenfolio.com/brtecampbellsvan/h1045d837#h1045d837

Threads will come in time, but I must keep going with my layout baseboards for now, so you might have a bit of a wait. For now they have to join my "unbuilt kit mountain". If I pause the comedy carpentry for too long there's a good chance I'll never get motivated to restart :(

I also finally got around to buying an aditional set of driving wheels for my Right Price 03 kit which has sat stalled on my bench for probably more than a year. These wheels will be chopped to become the jack shaft, (correct diameter and centred/quartered), so that I can finally achieve a decent rolling chassis! It was driving me mad! ..And hopefully, that should motivate me to finish the kit.:)

Colin, the conflat looked nice, but I'd got the slaters one by the time I saw it. Be sure to post up pictures and want to see your 47 too.

I wasn't laughing, the way he had everything Stacked on boxes it was only a matter of time before it happened. Did I feel sheepish when I gave it him back. I wouldn't mind but I was about to buy an MDO from his stall I thought the ground was going to open and swallow me up Lol

Thanks for posting those pics Jordan :) .... much better than my cr@p iphone pics, I really liked those two diesel depots & as I was saying to you, they gave me a few ideas for an indoor layout :)

I really liked Bedford Road, it really does show what you can do in a small space. 10'6" by 20" he told me.

Great day out yesterday and nice to meet up with friends old and new. I initially was going to place L/Cpl Lancer sick0010.gif on a charge of malingering but then found out it was a war wound from pulling something in the night :p so he is hereby promoted to Cpl.

As for purchases I had a modest outlay for three sets of Mk1 oval buffers from NMRS and an Easybuild Mk glazing kit, all for my weedkilling train. I also picked up this little beauty

And some of you will have seen it on the test track doing a few laps. It's a lovely model, soundly built and beautifully painted. Between us we think its a Post War prototype model. I picked it up via the Guilds E&T facility for a very respectable £275 :D It is twin motored but only powers two axles (no Delrin fitted) and is also a bit on the light side. However, it handled the six coach test train with few problems (a bit of a wobble now and again) and will benefit from adding some weight. I originally bought it with the view to repainting it but I might keep it as it is (even though its a Scottish region machine),

Cheers

You could always consider doing a partial repaint - painting the roof grey and putting large numbers on it as per the prototype :)

you know what noise a rattle can of blue paint makes well keep it up and the full yellow ends are a gonner

I tell you Iploffy what was blue and that was the air behind the Model Express stand. I don't think a repaint will fix that poor GUV... :)

Taken on my "ancient" Nokia E90 Brick. Not bad if I say so myself, except for the last one - I think I was bumped by a rucksack at the critical moment... ;)
My last phone was a Nokia 5800 .........much better camera than the iphone;)

Glad everyone had a good time. Now what about telling us what you all bought?

Slater's tank wagon kit, second hand but unbuilt - £25 bargain!
Mercian Peckett X2 kit
Meteor 100HP Sentinel kit
Some people and a cat

I got to put some faces to names and also got to froth a bit about the announcement of the new Ixion loco.
