Superb stuff: but I looked at descriptions like "22 mixed [wagons]" and thought, "What mix?" Tantalising stuff!

Pardon my ignorance, but there a couple of abbreviations I am not sure of: LD and SP. At a guess, I would say "Loading Dock" and "Stabling Point" but I could be miles off the mark.

Can anyone shed light on this?

Oh, and Simon, can we see some progress shots, please?

Fascinating stuff 8) 8) 8)

Does the 'Load 9' type comments in the right hand column refer to the number of coaches ? ..........I noticed that the 05.37 ECS hauled by D819 Goliath  had 'Load 19' 8)

Surprised I couldn't find any workings to Withercombe though  ;D

Those pics bought back some memories of 1978 for me. A friend of mine and myself purchased a one week railrover west of Bristol (Devon and Cornwall). We stayed in Par and got friendly with the bobby in Par box. Imagine our surprise later in the week when double heading 25s on a clay train stopped and one of the drivers came to the box to ask the bobby if these were the two lads that he was taking to Plymouth. One of the best days of my life and I always appreciated the friendliness and generosity of the staff at Par station for arranging this unofficial footplate ride for a couple of teenage lads.

Hi Bogusman, sounds fantastic. I myself remember catching the Derby to Penzance at about 1.15am sat morning to start the 7day all line rover ticket. Getting off at par at about 4/5 ish and sitting in the waiting room with the heater on untill the sun came up and it had got to about 6.30/ 7.00am where we would then walk round to St. Blazey  What memories
