Basingstoke Show, 8th/9th March 2014 - Post Show Layouts report

When I asked Gordon about bringing Pempoul to Basingstoke his reply was something like "just six shows a year, you might have to wait a while...". Four years have gone by since that conversation and I am glad to say that Pempoul, my all time favourite layout, is attending the Basingstoke 2014 Show.
The wait was worthwhile - rarely was there more than a couple of minutes when there was any space in front of this work of art. Speaking to members of our club after the show several people said that they had been moved by the layout, they felt drawn into the scene.

Pempoul makes an impression on people.

In talking to Mrs. Gravett today I got the impression that Gordon and Maggie were aware of the internet publicity for our show, in which case I want to thank them for giving so much pleasure to those who visited our show.

Thank you, Graham

lots of photos on Monday please.
I was offered so many good images for the Show publicity topic that I have not been able to use more than a small percentage of what was available. I intend to post the unused photographs, starting later today and adding over the next few days.

Given the number of motion-arm camera supports which were in use on Sunday I shall not be surprised to see videos of the show appearing on U-toob and similar.

regards, Graham

Hi Graham

Thanks for posting these - I think it's a super little layout.

Unfortunately I couldn't get a pass-out for Basingstoke, but believe it is booked for Guildex at Telford in September, so I'm looking forward to seeing it there and having a natter to Chaz.

I raised Tim's question with Chaz today, He has replied that Dock Green is to appear at Telford this year with a possible appearance at a show in Wimborne in October.
