Prototype Blue diesels double heading.

I managed to capture a few occasions of diesels in pairs in the blue era on film - I know this was not uncommon but I only occasionally visited the railway in those days. I hope that those fans of this time on British Rail may enjoy them:-

A pair of 31's on a train of empty oil tanks, believed for Immingham, photographed on the southern outskirts of Leicester. This subsequently became a turn for the then new Class 60's.

A pair of 20,s waiting to cross from the main line in to Redland sidings near Sileby, Leicestershire. An aggregate train was awaiting collection.

A pair of 37's with an empty steel coils train returning north passing Sileby . This working regularly produced a pair of northern based locomotives.img036.jpg

A pair of 20's, 20 060 trailing, easing past platform four at Leicester on the goods by-pass line - note the Midland Railway lower quadrant signal which survived right to the final resignalling on the MMl 'Leicester Gap'. The track layout in this area has been radically modified in recent times.

I hope you have enjoyed these - thanks for looking.
