How on earth did you manage to get a mini re run?

He he he.....
It needed much guile and coercion, a twist and a turn, and no little amount of subterfuge....... plus 5 like minded individuals who paid £100 deposit to make it happen ;)

Unfortunately, I believe they could only manage a very limited run due to certain parts being out of production and they put some of the parts for these few kits together from some old stock. I'm told there won't be any more so if you can get your hands on a kit I'd recommend you do so (saving JLTRT get around to this one, or Heljan have so much success with the Western that they feel compelled to follow up with a 42/43, or Fred drops down as scale!)

Anyway, I'm the proud owner of two kits (one with Richard Dockerill so we've some competition on the builds!), and a first look at the castings suggests I have my work cut out on this one......  hmmm...  More to follow.

Ian.

best of luck with the build Ian - I know how you feel - I did a DJH Deltic a few years back and the main body joints were shaped like distorted horseshoes - had fun and games with DJH to supply new body castings, they agreed to take them to Halifax, then denied the arrangement, but I persuaded them to reshape the castings at the show = especially as the 'audience' was growing while I was in full complaining mode. Got there in the end, but I won't be doing anymore of their offerings.

cheers

For a build of one of these take a look at http://www.7mmlocomotives.co.uk/

Andrew

You have to then click on gallery and then go to page 2. Christian's build is awesome, I just DO NOT know how his modelling is so clean and free of excess solder. ::)

Just to make you all drool, I have TWO unmade Warship kits from Tower in my loft.

One will be 824 "Highflyer" in BFYE, I already have the plates. I saw her at Swindon inside the "A" shop being broken by a long line of schoolboys on the last Swindon Works Open day. I sat in the driver's seat, briefly, and looked up to see her name and number stencilled up there, and thought, "Highflyer.........no more :(".

The second will be 817 "Foxhound" in MFYE or MSYE, as it was the first one I ever saw, at Paddington in the early 6o's...........Early enough for kids to boo it when it turned up instead of a "Castle" or a "King".

I hope the build goes well and look forward to pics and details.

Thanks for all the words of encouragement. Finally picked up Part 1 and Part 2 today. Hmmm......  Suddenly I remember why I like those lovely clean JLTRT resin castings.........

Ah well, got to start somewhere......  See you when I've bunged up all my files with whitemetal and given 'em a polish with Duraglit ;)
