Slipped gracefully onto my conservatory floor two nights ago - I was so upset that it stayed there until tonight when I finally had courage to pick it up! I can't quite believe this is the only real damage done - I think that removing the roof and windows back to the bulkhead, I may be able to fit a new upper section and bingo, we're back in business........ The lighting, fans and decoders are all still in situ and working ok!

I think you will find the cab windows very weak especially the pillars :( I tried a similar fix and in the end binned the casting.

That's extremely bad luck, especially having got to the painted stage. I would agree with Cynric that a whole new cab casting is the way to go though.

OK, thanks for the advice chaps. I'll take a deep breath (again!) and cut the cab off..... and then carefully peel away the flesh, rip out the innards, and knock it all back with a nice bottle of Chianti, che, che, che.

Guess I haven't quite got over this yet.......:eek::(
