Hi JB

thanks for the comments, much appreciated. I'm desparately trying to resist thinking about weathering it - most pictures I've seen of 9004 are of it in pristine condition, but there are one or two mucky ones as well - so there's hope yet.

The weathering on your 2-6-0 is the business, really do like that.

Mike

Thanks Mike, the new airbrush is fantastic and helps a great deal, but it's still a very steep learning curve !!

it's all over - bar some light weathering and ready for a good run at Llanbedr on the North Wales & West Cheshire test track tomorrow. Transfers are from Frank Warner at Scale Model Transfers and the yellow lines are Trimline self adhesive.

Lovely!! I do have a soft spot for mail coaches. I did a 4mm LMS one that I built using a 247 Developments Kit as the basis.

TOP DRAWER modelling Mike   Exellent. Did the sprung buffers come in the kit ? or have you replaced the kit ones with these.

Hi Rob, Phil & Rob,

many thanks for your responses. Rob, the buffers are not as supplied with the kit, they are from Prestige, who do quite a good range - steam, diesel and MU.

Hi Guv,

thanks for the complement. Easybuild (Shawn Kay) are doing 105/108 sets and they look quite good and Peter Clark does the Southern 'Thumpers'

Saturday's running session threw out a few 'wobbles' which have now been rectified and I've also done the weathering, a pristine loco was bugging me, so I'm a lot happier now.

That does look better  I think the ambient light is kinder/better as well, which shows how subjective colour perception is

Hi Guv,

yes the light was bright cloud as opposed to the very bright sun of last week. Anyway, I like a bit of dirt
