BTH railcar

In 1912 the GWR had a petrol railcar built by British Thompson Houston. I've seen the photos and data from a couple of books but all I've gleaned re measurements is that it was 33' 3" long overall. Apparently it is recorded as Diagram 'U' but I haven't seen that anywhere. I can happily deperspectify the photos I have but can anyone help with actual dimensions?

Thanks

Hello Brian,
My information from the OPC Railcar book is the same as yours. it might be possible to extrapolate the width, but it probably 8'6. Bearing in mind the lack of information and obscurity of the prototype I doubt anybody would know better  :)

Thanks, 28ten, for the speedy reply. I was recommended to come here as the fount of all GWR knowledge, so if you lot don't know what hope is there for me to create a model! Hey ho.

Looking at the pictures, it wouldn't be an overly difficult prototype to scratchbuild when compared to later railcars with all their compound curves. With earlier prototypes there is inevitably an element of guesswork  8)
