Hi, Captain Kernow,

I'm so pleased you picked up on the use of the term train station! I find the use of 'train station' so infuriating! Unfortunately, it's use seems to be coming more common. PLEASE, lets call them RAILWAY STATIONS!!!

I walked from the railway station to the club rooms. Good 20 minute walk if you're up for it. Fairly straight forward- come out of S&D station and head up the hill till you get to the roundabout and then veer right; follow it along till you get to the street opposite Sainsburys; turn right and walk along and then turn right again when you get to the roundabout; and walk up to the estate. Probably sounds easier in theory but it's a good walk if you're interested.

The gradual change from railway to train station irks me, too. The thing is, it's a logical change. buses don't stop at road stations, after all.

Following that sort of logic through, perhaps railway stations should be called train stops. Whatever happens, I'm afraid the "proper" usage of railway station will die out eventually.

Having utilised the bus on the journey from the railway station to the Warley Club rooms, I can now add some info. Get on any bus outside the railway station heading to the Olbury Interchange and then only get on the 120 or 121. Ask for a £4 day rover ticket. Have the correct money as NO change is given at all. Ask for Brades Road and it is then just a three or four minute walk.
The AGM went on longer than I expected due to some interesting discussions. I caught a taxi back to the station, cost £4. I did get a very good Tikka sizzler at the pub opposite the station as all else was closed. £3.75. Very tasty.
An excellent meeting before and a well run AGM. Thanks to all.
Cheers

Given the level of accommodation provided at most of them these days, perhaps train stops would be appropriate.
