Chopper tank

image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg Does anyone know about the brake shaft on these loco's. Was the v-hanger on each side of the frames or was there one inboard limiting the cross shaft length ? Before I get to far it would be good to get this matter right. There has been more than one kit of this loco so the information must be available.

Ian, thanks for the advice. I have one of Laurie Griffin chopper tank kits hence my question. In the kit the instructions are not very clear but one part of the etch suggests there may be a v-hanger in the centre of the frames rather than on each frame.
I started out scratch building this chopper tank a long time ago and built the chassis before starting the body. I half built the body but was not satisfied with my work so I bought the kit. I then found a few bits I wasn't impressed with in the kit so I made another body from scratch.
So I have one complete kit to build and this one to finish.
I have the articles in the L.N.W.R society magazine dealing with this loco complete with drawings but they still don't answer my question.

Mike, as discussed elsewhere, I don't know the answer. However putting the V hangers where you have is entirely logical and putting one anywhere else would entail brackets and supports which would be far more complicated. I can't see Crewe going for complication when they could go for simplicity, its just not Mr.Webb.
