There is still some work to do on Trooper like finish the bogies, add handrails, wipers, boiler + engine theatre's etc.
Then i want to take some better pics.

Well, are you ready for this and sat down. I have 5 but the last two are still untouched in the box. These are to be D1020 Western Hero and D1039 Western King or D1046 Western Marquis ( not made my mind up yet)

Five   quick, get a chair for Phill :lol:It will look damn impressive with 5 of them lined up! but making a model of Penzance I guess you will need a few more? :)
i would like another one at some point, but I could easily have 5 Warships :D

Yes, why have one when more will do...??

After all, whoever heard of a modeller having just one of his fave engines??...

(I expect more of you will need chairs now... to recover from the impossible concept of a Western (or even a Diesel-Hydraulic) not being someone's absolutely all-time favourite engine... )

Hi Rob

So far, you have Buccaneer, Stalwart & Trooper (which all look excellent, by the way  ), with Hero and King or Marquis in the wings.

Why no Lancer as yet? :)

I would certainly like more Westerns after Rifleman is finished and the first of these may well be blue, with small yellow panels, which limits my choice of names somewhat! :)

Dan

Talking of Blue Small Yellow Panels; has anyone ever done or seen a model of a Chromatic Blue Western...??? That would be something different..!

There's a surprise  ;) ..........I'm sure it will be worth it though [/quote:16xjphr8]
its one of those things, the more you look at pictures the more start to see. the flashes on D1011 are in a slightly different position on the cab front..... anyway i am doing an etch for the backing plate as its such a common item, and whilst I am at it I will do the access panel on the cab side so I can add the little holes for the retaining bolts

I'll give you OLE Warning Sign 'Nerdiness'... isn't that the wrong OLE sign on that model..?? That is the later sign where the red flash looks much like a Z... there was an earlier one where the flash was much narrower; hence possibly a narrower sign...?

Compare these two (from Fox Transfers site)...
