7mm Dapol Pannier Tanks - 57xx or 64xx?

Jordan

Mid-Western Thunderer
I've noticed that the number - 4698 - is actually visible, but those lamp irons do give it away. This was the one that went to the Southern Region and then returned to the W.R. (?Gloucester shed?).

I know it was a regular in the Forest of Dean.
Yes, I'd assumed it was allocated to Horton Road, but on another Thread (Over There I think!) the allocation for 4698 is given as Severn Tunnel Junction.
photos suggest it didn't have a shed plate anyway c.1965, so my slight liberty is that mine carries an 85B shed plate.

In a book I have of railways in the Black Country, a photo purports to show 4698 in 1968, working at Halesowen Canal Basin. It's of the front of the loco, & not very clear, so impossible to tell if the details match 4698 (i.e. the two extra disc irons) or if the info is correct or not anyway. AKAIK, all GW steam was withdrawn 31/12/65 - the S&D excepted.
