Drink Up Thee Zider!

Hello WTers!

I've been lurking around WT for a while now as I feel the need to do a little railway modelling (after a brief gap of about 30yrs!) and this time round want to try my hand at 7mm in brass, so I thought I should introduce myself.

My railway interest is based on my railway experiences as a kid - early '70s from temple meads to; somerset, south/mid/north wales, birmingham, oxford, motorail to cornwall etc. mostly blue, smelling of diesel and sounding like thunder!

I guess I'm in the right place ;)

As my first kit has arrived in the post this seems like a good time to say hi, not least because its an MMP kit and I have a feeling I may need some advice ...

Regards, Jon

Hi Jon,

Welcome, it certainly sounds like you're in the right place. Anyone building stuff gets my vote so plenty of photo's please.

thanks for the welcome chaps :)

trust me I am a long way off a loco of either colour or transmission choice, I'm a modelling noob. Ive never built a brass kit, although I did solder for a living a few years back so I'm hoping that will help. was going to start off with a simple wagon kit, but managed to snag an unbuilt, but complete, dogfish kit for £20 so in at the deep end it is! Mr Parkins should probably look the other way for the next month or so ...

PS if you're wondering, Bill Lumbergh is a character in the excellent movie Office Space. if you've ever worked in IT and/or had a dull office job, you may appreciate how funny this film is :)

...recognised as one of the two Mad Members of WT
That's just your split personality...
Now please stop that Jordan, you know just what I mean... Ploffy is going to be so upset if he is denied credit as one of the WT-official-Mad club, after all he is President, Vice-President, Chairman, Secretary and General Factotum whereas I am just a card carrying minion.

regards, Graham

ooo I like that

I'm looking for a house at the moment, and trying hard not to be too influenced by wondering how a western with a rake of 8/9 coaches and the same number of flats behind em will look in the garden
