Yes, it certainly reads better in a Will Hay way :) . Not quite Oh Mr Porter, but the Mid Suffolk was under very serious consideration for the location filming of The Titfield Thunderbolt until they found the Limpley Stoke branch.

Gosh I didn't realise this forum was a gathering of Will Hay fans! Welcome Ziderhead. On my French o gauge layout messrs Hay Moffat and Marriot are to be found.

"Gladstone, lovely lines ain't she" (IIRC that is before the fantastic shunting sequence, working out the shunt moves with a pocket watch, box of matches on the railhead head, as Gladstone steams over them, crushing the watch - cue Moore Marriot holding to his ear "it's stopped" Devonbelle

now you see, that is exactly what I should not be thinking about when I view on Thursday. the property is fantastic, good value (well relatively), needs a refurb, with a large garden ... on the side of a steep hill :headbang:

That's got loads of potential. Lots of viaducts spring to mind :D
I was thinking more a shed cut into the side of the bank, inside the shed a good working height for the boards and then straight out into ground level running - ok a few viaducts and cuttings as well.
