On my travels driving trucks around the country and further afield I sometimes ended up rather close to home.
On this occasion 'Stratford Lift' container depot which just happened to rub shoulders with Stratford Depot 30A
I can't date this shot but probably early 90's...........31, 37 & 47 classes noted.

There was a wonderful tale in one of the Truck mags years ago of a driver who collected a container from Southampton Docks, with instructions to take it to 'Stratford LIFT'.
Being a bit green, he'd not heard of the Stratford LIFT, so off he heads up the A34 to Stratford on Avon, thinking he'll ask about the Lift later. It was only when he stopped at a petrol station on the outskirts of the town that an old hand in the garage enlightened him :D

I made a similar mistake once, but fortunately in my case "Cheadle" and "Cheadle Hulme" aren't so far apart that your day is ruined... :oops:
