Saw the S160 Southbound on the M5 on our way back from Somerset today. She looked in safe hands, plenty of flashing Amber lights. No sign of the tender though, hope all arrives safely

Sorry Ian, familiarity breeds contempt..

As others thankfully informed, the Epping Ongar Railway, one of the steeper lines in the country. You're either half way up the rack and main valve or checking the brakes, one or the other, no doubt.

The S160 arrived this evening, can't wait..

I heartily recommend a visit to the EOR. Last year a chum and I went to see the 9F in operation. We were able to stand right next to it at the platform at North Weald and watch the gubbins move as they put it in reverse. perhaps one of the footplate crew could be delegated to explain it to the visitors as it happens, this year?
Looking forward to seeing the S160.
