Scattergun Euston We Have a Problem

In the absence of finding a DCC thread on this elite forum I'm using Area 51. Hope that's OK.

I'm now the happy and proud owner of a Sprog II. I've loaded up the instructions which are remarkably good and concise. This will, of course, allow me to deal with the idiosyncrasies of the DCC decoders as I install them in my locos, or try to make them chuff in time with the wheel rotation for those which Steph has not already wrangled in to their correct configuration.

As a confirmed technophobe this will be a process full of enjoyment and newly learned expletives probably not too dissimilar to those emotions I enjoy when building the "K". (I must not throw expensive equipment against the wall. I must not throw........) However I have at least a semblance of understanding about how the "K" should look, ultimately and probably the names of most of the parts. In the case of DCC programming I'm at sea come the first acronym so, before I make any effort to try the process please may I make two pleas?

Firstly, I'll be grateful for any help in terms which a simple minded country boy (ho ho) might understand once he's finished milking the pigs or whatever they do of an evening.

Secondly, please treat me gently.

Thirdly, please don't laugh. And here you can understand how serious is the task before me. I can't even count.

Steph will visit on Tuesday for a couple of days. If he's not a gibbering wreck by the time he leaves on Thursday I'll be surprised and consider the time as well spent. I'll let you know.........:)

Dad,
Don't worry about it for a day or two. The instructions are good and can be followed verbatim.
I suspect you'll be up and running before I see you.
