So this is where you guys have been hiding is it?  It's been a bit quiet on RMWeb recently...!

I guess I'm 'known' to many on this forum, but to those who don't know me I offer the following by way of an introduction;

I've been a modeller for many years, I'm now working mostly in 7mm scale.  I'm currently concentrating on providing stock and technical support to a friend's large home layout set just north of Southampton in the 1947-1951 period.  My involvement in this has come about because it very much meets my aspirations for the locos and rolling stock I wish to model.  Sometimes it's a bit of a pain though; virtually all the coaching stock will need either scratchbuilding or modifying available kits.

I'll need some help from you guys with the building of the GWR stock we'll need; it's not my area of knowledge at all.

Otherwise we'll just see what happens...

Hi chaps - thanks for the greetings.  I feel at home already!

Yes, the 'Ministry of Silly Questions' is in full effect and I've already posted a couple of nauseating and shameless requests for help...

Rob,

Hehe, so we're all here then.  Took me a while to catch on didn't it...

Rog,

Thank you for that most unexpected rejoinder  ;)

11001 has now completed several miles of running in as a brakeless, radiatorless, unpainted brass loco.  I had just started working out how to bodge the last set of details when a rumage through the NRM's Ashford list (for something else!) started turning up cryptic references to an experimental diesel mechanical loco.  I need to get off up to the NRM to check; but it's just possible that all the drawings survive...  :eek:

Progress will continue when I've done a York trip.  Hopefully it'll be good news and the drawings are there and in good enough condition to be copied, but I'm not holding my breath just yet!
