This was a relatively quick build of the JLTRT kit. Nothing fancy here, just my usual silly details. The chassis is rigid, although the centre axle has a little float in it. The brake blocks and hangers were supplied as 3D prints from Simon Thompson (@SimonT), so shorting should definitely not be a problem, and they are very close to the wheels! The mixed and matched crew comes from the usual suspects, main fire irons from Laurie Griffin, plus a scratch-made pricker, and the bucket from DJH. Plates from Severn Mill.

(Edited to replace the images. I'd shot them under the wrong white balance, and on reviewing them I decided to edit them. The joys of shooting in RAW!)

Colin and Neill, thank you both for the kind words.

I've got umpteen more builds lined up. It's just pleasing to get one finished - as opposed to nearly finished pending some further jobs.

Oh, how I wish I could build something as magnificent, Heather.

Aww, now you're embarrassing me!

I'm a firm believer in practice makes perfect. I also believe that it's important not to think you're not good enough. Everyone has something they're good at, and if they keep doing things they're not so good at they get better at those too.

For my part, I can see the flaws and faults readily. But it still works as a whole, which is the result I aim for.

That loco looks superb Heather...I would love to have it trundling along my (yet to be built) layout :)

Warmly reassuring words, Heather, thank you.

I shall bear them in mind when the time comes, prior to launching my feeble attempt on a direct hit for the dustbin after my patiently adjusted then readjusted con rods still fail to sit parallel to the footplate

Talking about placing obstacles.....

Best wishes,

jonte
