I am trying to fit some kadees to Easybuild coaches.
Having never used kadees beforer built coaches im having difficult.
I cut the buffer beam because the draft box protrudes under the corridor connection.
It Iit seems to be thar they need mounting on plasticard.
The draft box seems to foul the mark one bogies so having no joy what so ever.
Once i know what im doing they will be easy, b1524025148398274289574.jpg 1524025148398274289574.jpg 15240252538231989945314.jpg ut as of today i remain clueless

You might find S-scale or 0n30 couplers fit better. They're a touch small for scale, but not by much whereas the 0-scale versions are massively over size for British outline; in the UK the coupler head is smaller than the US.

On the Southern stock I've built the 0- gauge couplers won't even fit as the coupler head clouts the bottom of the gangway and the coupler box runs on the top of the bogie end beam.

Other than that you seem to have them about right; they're not tricky to install.

I've fitted Kadee S scale couplers to my SR Maunsell push pull unit, as Steph has suggested above.....

They are perfect for the job although clearances are quite limited.

You need to modify the kadee deagbox by removing the outer 2 loops.

I also use 1mm bit of plastic between the bragbox and underframe to place the coupling in the correct posistion.

Heres the first on i did about 10 years ago using a short bragbox

On the latter builds I've used 804 or 805 couplings.
If you need the couplings any lower you will have to remove the front part of the bogie.

I have a coach currently in the paintshop, will take photo's of coupling mount in the next couple of days.

Hope this helps

Roof screw hols have been moved back 5mm to help clear the inside partition. You can leave them in there origanal position but may need to remove the back loop.

Hope this Helps
