Only just stumbled across this. The buildings at the cremery fascinated me. Alas there was never a direct rail link there. Milk traffic was handled st Torrington station until 1978; for many years in the goods shed road. Then there was a dedicated loading facility from early 1970s with pumping equipment on the former main platform with the track set into concrete in case of spillage. My late father was involved with Torrington freight traffic (he worked.for BR Western In divisional freight office).
