Greetings and Salutations!

Just found this site and joined thought I'd say hi.

Since childhood been a GWR fan (and of IKB) but interest in railways and models had lapsed since then 'til last Christmas. My modelling and DIY skills are zero so I'm starting with a small 00 layout (yes a branch line terminus) not to overextend myself and make use of the one bit of spare space we have in our house. But working with these constraints, I want to make the layout as believable as I can. Likely initially at least I'll be asking many more questions than answering them I'm afraid - hope you don't mind.

Hi Jon,

A warm welcome, and ask as many questions as you like, that's what we are all here for .

Jon,

As Martyn says, don't be afraid to pitch in with your questions: everyone around here is friendly.  I don't know much of a GWR persuasion, but do need some GWR stock for the project I'm involved with in 0-gauge.  The guys here have been great at pointing out where I can find the info I'm after, so I'm sure there'll be much to interest you here.

Beware those who might try to persuade you to 0-gauge (or larger!); there are several of [s:10l5mp75]us[/s:10l5mp75] them on here.

Fan of IKB eh? That blatant self-publicist?  Couldn't hold a candle to his Dad... (IMHO  ;))

He couldn't design a steam locomotive, thats for sure!  but he was a man of vision and and self belief, which is probably why he is remembered.

Welcome aboard  Jon

Especially beware those who might try & tempt you to The Dark Side.... :- specifically that's American-outline trains  ... though here it tends to cover anything not GWR or BR(W)...  :D see Area 51, if you dare... 8)
Welcome aboard & enjoy !!!

welcome aboard and as Jordan points out, Area 51 is the real place to be - although Southern Railway and BR(SR) in my case
