Modelling on a £1200 table.
Had a good afternoon and it was nice to see a few of you...
I only spent £7 wanted to spend a bit more as I'd set my heart on a rather nice lasercut LSWR signalbox, they were on display on the Easybuild stand but when I'd pondered and finally made my mind up to part with my £52.00 I was disappointed to learn it was the only one he didnt have :headbang:.............
Happily however I've ordered one from their website
I also picked up a platelayers hut from the same range to wet my appetite (that was the £7 I spent) Have a look at the range they do its.....http://lasercraftuk.com/

I even managed to get Tower and DJH together to agree to another production run on the Class 42/43 Warship, so if there's any hydraulic nuts out there (like me!), that doesn't have the Tower Warship (like me! :'(), but wants one or two (like me!) then please give Tower a ring and express your interest  The more interest shown, the faster it'll happen. There's five of us who've placed £100 deposits and it's going to go ahead, but a further expression of support would only help speed things along!

All the best.

Ian.

Ian,

Any idea how much the final cost will be?  I could be tempted, but I'm really not sure why.  Maybe it's the German V200/Hydraulic connection.  Either way, if it's more than a King Arthur, it's probably off the list...  ::)

Fickle huh? ;D

Oh, it's sooooo much more than a King Arthur in every sense! ;)

I've no final price yet, but considering all the DJH diesel kits are £435 (other than the shunters) then we're expecting prices in that order - but this will be the full kit, including wheels, motor and gearbox. Not bad at all really for a very good looking model - was ahead of it's time when it first came out, I thought..... don't know why I didn't jump in then! :'(

The V200's are monster machines... hugely impressive in that loading gauge, but I like the "refined" cousin D800's which were a major re-design headache for the Swindon boys from the German drawings :headbang:, but a great stepping stone and learning curve towards the more gracefully masterful D1000's. Somehow, the D800's and D1000's just look so good together, side by side, although there's surprisingly few (relatively, that is) good photos of the classes together in the books and photo's I've seen.....    need to put that straight on the modelling front!

Freds G1 model/kit is quite superb btw.

King Arthur 0:1 Warship in my book, but don't get me wrong about the good ol' kettle... that's a super loco too.

Just a quick update on the Class 42/43 Warship - I have handwritten note from Dave at Tower Models today confirming that the DJH Warship kit will be ready end of August and ok for collection at Telford. Their launch price will be £595, but those of us with pre-paid orders will be £495 - this for the full kit including wheels and motor......  can't wait!  Which one will it become....  Daring, Sharpshooter, Thruster, Vanquisher, Zenith  :-\ ;D....  so much choice......  except for the colour, ofc  8) ::) ;)
