The idea is to glue them together I think, but even so they are very fiddly, I have just been putting some on myself  :headbang: & that's only single thickness...........I might try doubling them up on one of my Hymeks when I'm feeling brave enough  ;D

Just dug the severn mill plates and numbers out and yes very fiddly to attach took ages just to place on the model let alone glue it . me thinks alot of practice with a cocktail stick and a bit of blue tack and slow cure super glue . re the thickness the works plates are approx .75 mm and the numbers .3-4mm ish . i dont have a micrometer :-[

Hi Gents,
Have you tried securing your numbers together and applying them to your model with matt varnish ? I use this method when making my 4mm cab No.plates from the Martin Finney etched components. In my case a blank plate is prepared and the required numbers are selected  The plate is then coated in matt varnish, the numbers are then floated in place with a cocktail stick and left for a couple of days. You have plenty of time to make adjustments before the varnish grips and once fully set the bond is really strong. I don't see why you cannot adopt the same method on your Hymek body ?

Cheers,
Geoff

Thanks for that Chris  , they do look a little thicker than the Prestige & Shawplan ones that I have . I wonder if you could possibly photograph one again away from the transfer numbers showing the edge of the numbers against the plain green ? , do they come as a set on a etch like the Shawplan & Prestige ones do ?.

Many Thanks

I must admit I was in something of a dilemma whether to actually use my SevernMill Works Plates, as they aren't as ledgible as the printed ones. In fact I don't think mine are as good as your's here, Westernfan - maybe I had a slightly 'dodgy' batch. I've found some of the numerals aren't an exact match either - so although I did fit the works plates in the end, the numbers are still on the "to do" list... ::) :headbang:

The tip about Matt varnish for fixing was a good one; IIRC I saw it in the modelling section of a Traction magazine....

Yes I like Severn Mill stuff very much  8), I was very impressed with the Warship plates I got from them a while ago , I will definitely be using them again. I notice you just get 4 of everything for the Hymek numbers , not much room for error for people like me who are good at dropping tiny components........never to be seen again  ;D
