Hello everyone.

Hello everyone,

I am new to this so I am getting used to using it. Not sure if I am doing it OK.

I started off (and still not finished ) a 5" GWR prairie tank loco a long time ago but about 20 years ago after visiting an O gauge exhibition I thought I quite fancy having a go at an O gauge kit and ever since that first Springside 14XX I am hooked and cannot stop building O gauge kits. I have built DJH and Modern Outline locos but having just finished a Finney 7 Rover and really enjoyed building it I am now working on a Duchess. After talking to Richard at the Bristol show last Sunday he suggested I look at this site and it is lovely to see his work on the Duchess and to see what everyone is up to. You are all very talented and it is very interesting to see your work. I am really impressed with your modelling skills and Richards work is definatly something to aim for. I think I have posted the picture of my progress of the Duchess OK. I am sure I will get used to posting things.

Kind regards to you all.

Welcome from me also.
The Duchess chassis look superb, would it be possible for you to post photographs of your other work, more specifically one of the Finney 7 Rover please.

Thank you everyone for your warm welcome and kind words.

This is a picture of the Finney 7 Rover which is almost completed, I picked it up from the Bristol show last Sunday after Warren Haywood had worked his magic with the paintbrush. I am really pleased with the way it has turned out. It was a pleasure to build. There are a few little details yet to do but it is almost there.I decided not to motorise it though it does have inside motion as it is just nice to look at and admire. I am making the track for it to sit on. The rail I got from the broad gauge society and when we visited the Didcot society I measured their broad gauge sleepers so I can make the longitudinal sleepers for it.

I am looking forward to gleaning some info from you all on the problems I have along the way.

Regards

Thank you Richard, what a beautiful looking locomotive ( I am slightly biased to all things Broad Gauge ! ) I for one certainly appreciate you posting it here following my request.

Thank you Graham and Pete for your kind words.
I am sure it is going to be really good here to exchange pictures and chat about our modelling. There is a lot of interesting things going on.
I am currently fitting the inside motion on the Duchess so will post some pictures when finished.

Regards

Richard
