I tend to name my layouts for where I lived at the time of building... Leeming Yard because I lived in Leeming, Iceni Road because I (currently) live in Suffolk, Witts End was purely because it is my 'display work in progress' shelf, so if I am at my wits end I can plonk it on the track and leave it while I work out what to do!

Having carried out some research into my family history I now have a number of place names that could be used as layout names. All the names of people who marry into the family can be a usful source of traders names.
