F. A. L. C. O. N. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've asked Severn mill about a Falcon crest, unless he can get a better price from the etchers then it's a no go. I'm sure they supplied etched ones with the 4mm model.
Luckily for me when on the western in 62 she had the painted one but I'd be inclined to put it on if it was nice enough.

Right, now I'm really going to put the cat amongst the pigeons......

What's so brilliant about Falcon anyway...????

To me it looks like an ugly 47. The headcode box is too high up on the nose; it has a design of fairing around the windows that is a bit like a Hymek but not as style-ish. It's got more grills than a BBQ down it's sides...... Does absolutely nothing for me at all..!!

Discuss. (Or rant & fume at such philistine ignorance.... :) )
Agreed, 47 kit that went a bit wrong :)

horlicks !!!!!:))

For a start she had MAYBACHS(enough said:cool::D). But seriously as a spotter in the pre internet/mobile world she was something of a holy grail for us 70's train spotters.

I saw her on a Dalescroft Railfans tour of Wales..........

Regarding nameplates, I already have a set, and worksplates, bought from Guilplates. Not dear either.

The Falcons are very nice, the worksplates clear and legible, with the works number 280, from where she got her first BR number.

I'll dig them out tomorrow and try and photograph them.

I asked Chris at Severn Mill some years ago, but he wasn't up for it.

Is that top pic of Falcon at Swindon, or Brush?

I think it's brush, there's a falcon facebook page with loads of pictures on it.

Here are the Guilplates for Falcon. They do a need a little tidying with files etc, but the plates look the part and the worksplates are clearly legible: "Brush Traction, No.280, 1961, England.
