Out and about this morning walking off the jetlag I happened upon a grade crossing and struck lucky with the timing.

Not the best shots in the world, needless to say, the sun came out just afterwards......

Cool, couple of sponge bob's

Nice to see CSX putting life back in the old SD40-2, think these are classified as SD40-3 by CSX

Just four days left for me before I get across the pond

I asked google maps to give me a satellite view of Paschal Road, Georgia... and I could not find the railroad. Can you give some guidance as to where you were?

You can tell by the cabs, all square and angular, hence the nick name sponge bob square pants from the kids TV show.

I'm sure it's a nice modern comfortable cab but it takes a lot to make something so boxy look so ugly.

They're doing the same with old GP38-2 and GP40-2 engines and post rebuild are classified GP38-3 and GP40-3 by CSX

Peachtree City GA. Paschall Rd is west off I74 a few hundred yds south of the I54 intetsection. Last time I was here there was a short freight spur just north of here crossing Huddlestone Rd but that has now gone - still on Google maps and street view though. Last years shot ( posted in the Day out in Manchester thread) was taken from the footbridge over the I74 about 1/2 mile north.

Just noticed
The grey (gray) box in the photo is lettered Paschal, the map says Paschall - one L of a difference :)

Another chance to go walkabout this afternoon.
A northbound train of assorted empty intermodals runs along side I74.

I think I have managed to capture most of the wagon variants. If I come here again I'll have to bring a proper camera, there is only so much you can do with a phone :-(

Looks like they've rebuilt the cab and low nose.
As per Mick's post...
