An understandable reaction under the circumstances. That sounded all wrong, so what I’m trying to say is we will still be here when you feel you want to come back and share some more modelling time with us.

A bit further with the N6. Just noticed transfer carrier paper on axle box oops. I now need to source small transfer letters for "LOCO" above door in 9" top extension on wagon.

Another going through works. Brake leavers and guards all soldered/glued in place and all chemical blacked after this photo. Will paint the wagon tonight. Only another 50 to do!!! Load still to make.

Crikey! That makes my backlog of projects look manageable... Keep up the good work.

Thanks Adam. I must admit once I have the wagons built I will start to think about a layout to run them on. I have an idea of what type and size of layout I want after reading cameo layouts by Mr Rice now all I have to do is build it.

More work on the wagons. the underframe/metal work are a mixture of Ambis, Bill Bedford, ABS and scratch built. Just got to chemcal black again in places and paint then on to the next.

Thought this wagon would be a quick one with just a wheel set change how wrong could I have been!!!!! Tried to fit wheels but just dug in to the plastic pinpoint. Drilled out and fitted brass bearings but still too tight so decided to fit Masokits W iron spring units and all the other replacement parts. Not so quick after all.

Just coming to the end of these 2 wagons just got to chemical black and paint. I removed the woolway transfer as the black plastic look just didn't look right so will now be painted black and POW transfers fitted. The next project will be finishing a Finney hall purchased from a Mr R of this parish.

I wasn't happy with the woolway transfers and the black plastic finish so decided to remove them (which was quite easy). So the following photos shows the wagon primed and with the first couple of black coats applied. Just got to order POW transfers. Wire safety loop has since been straightened and glued.

I know it looks a bit boring but I went for "WOOLWAY" transfers from POW Sides. I think the wagon looks better with these rather than the originals which looked very thin.

Agreed. They look much better than the sets of transfers I had from POW Sides, however. These needed quite a lot of work to render them presentable: 4mm - An EM Workbench - vans go

While going through my stock came across a Toad that just needed some added detail and a roof so decided to finally finish it.

A couple of more wagons for the coal train will need another 30. Kept the RTR brake gear and levers as Carl Legg passed on a gold nugget of advice "Use the 3 foot rule" and I must admit when the train is moving how noticeable will the brake gear be.

Sorry to grumble, as it’s lovely, but please blacken the couplings!
