These photos have been taken with my iPad so they may be the wrong way up apologies

Pretty sure its like the iPhone - theres an "Edit" button top right when you are looking through the photos, press that, then hit the little rounded arrow in the bottom left corner - this will rotate the photo so it displays properly

Love the new Workbench thread John, a really lovely mix of eras so far. I always had a love for a green brush 4, I still have my original Lima one with super detailed buffer beams and ultrascale wheels. Looking forward to watching progress on your various projects

Hi John:)

If you mean the Blue Spot vans, they ran fish traffic ........from Kyle to London I think?, but in later life quite a few found themselves used in express parcels traffic painted BR blue & then later still in Departmental use.

I think they may have run in block trains, but didn't they also get tagged on to the back of passenger trains?

Hope this helps.......or someone more knowledgeable will be able to help further ;)

Cheers Phill

They also ran behind DMU's occasionally.

I think if you are looking to run a train of parcels that your need to mix in some parcel wagons as I think it very unlikely it would all be ex blue spots.

Thank you Phill would they have been in a train of mixed vans as you may have noticed my knowledge of the modern railway is limited
John
The forty year old modern railway! It surprising though how few pictures of parcel trains with SPV's are on the net.

It would seem that these wagons mat well have not run in long rakes but I have found some good photos of parcels trains on Martin Loaders railway photography site which has given me a better idea of how to put a parcels train together -

Can you post the link please John ?.

Steve
