That black roof weathering transforms a blue Hymek. Don't have any 7mm models (yet) but will have a go on my 4mm fleet.
Let's hope the process you have used scales down OK.

One other thing I haven't commented on yet; after a good running session on the rolling road, and trundling up and down Withyn a few times, I found slivers of silver metal on the track afterwards. Turns out the Hymek is shedding it's plating on the wheel treads quite badly. It doesn't seem to be affecting the running, but has anyone else experienced this..?

hi jordan yeah my heljan hymek lost its plating on its wheels as well ,!!! so apart from having a noisy fan ,cracked gear cogs and naff chrome plating its fine  ive packed my o gauge models away for awhile to concentrate on a 4mm project ,i just hope that my heljan hymek doesnt disintegrate whilst its in storage  by the way nice weathering job on your hymek

Nice weathering job Jordan   Had a noisy fan issue and a dollop of white grease seems to have done the trick  (really must buy some as I pinched a bit from the bogie gear wheels  ) not had any issues with plating coming off wheels of yet but im sure it will  as I've had the split gears and every other problem ha ha Great work anyway
