This is just a blue tack run to see how the running plate fits but it's quite nice to see her on the frames John
Hi I've just done this Jinty conversion the 2mm association do a conversion kit for this loco when I first did it the etched coupling rods became bent but Alan smith who is something of a genius in2mm circles milled some new rods for me and they are much stronger than the etched ones .So engine converted in just a couple of hours although I understand it's been done in a much shorter time John
Hi Brian it's the number that came with the loco I haven't thought about any re numbering as yet John
I presume the finer rods are the milled version in the top photograph. If so they make a vast improvement.
Hi Dave yes they are as I mentioned Alan smith made them for me they are tiny they even have the joint machined into them John
A nice job there - it does look a whole lot better with those wheels and rods, one small query is it me but in the photo it looks like the rods are on upside. On the rear driver the boss on the rod looks like the oiling bit (sorry don't know what it's called) is at the bottom rather than the top. I keep scanning ebay to see if I can pick a cheap one to do a similar conversion.
