I've recently signed up as a new member having lurked and browsed the forum as a visitor over quite a period and liked what I've seen.

I do like to make things (well, attempt some modelling both kit and scratch-building) but my interests, as outlined in my application, are urban railways from the mid 70s to mid 90s and mainly the BR(S) and NSE location. And I'm into N/2mm scale - but not to the level of some of the wonderful 2mm Finescale modelling here so I stick with the current finer N gauge standards like RP25 wheelsets and so on.

I recognise quite a few names of members here so hopefully I'll fit in.

Grahame.

Good to see you here Grahame. Whatever your standards, add your posts to the 2mm forum. The format from the other site transfers more or less directly.

Welcome Grahame!

I think Western Thunder works because we are all modellers of varying ages and skills. We like to model stuff, show what we do, and share how we do it. It matters not what the scale or gauge is, because it’s all about modelling - even the occasional non-railway things (raises slightly guilty hand!). I don’t think any of us pretend we are better than anyone else, because there is always something to learn from each other.

The important thing is we like plenty of photos, so start a thread about your modelling and off you go!

Hi Grahame,

welcome to WT. I envy you that your eyes are good for 2mm/ft., mine are used to 7mm/ft. and I'm fighting a loosing battle.

I look forward to seeing your progress photos, especially as they will feature the right part of the country!

regards

Mike
