Latest S7 wheels for the 8F

Hi All

I have received samples from David @ Slater's of the new S7 wheels for the 8F, I will have these samples at our AGM in Princes Risborough this Saturday, see you there.

Sounds wonderful, as you might expect me to think. Unfortunately I will not be at the AGM (!!), but I would definitely like to be one of the first in the queue (possibly even the very first!) when they become available.

Hi David

I will contact you when the wheels arrive, these are only test mouldings for the centre of the driving wheel and the tender, but both have the rear spoke moulded profile.

I see that the drivers have a steel insert for the crankpin. Is this just on S7 wheels or do all Slater's wheels now have that feature.

They must be new there's no rust on them......

Hi Paul, the steel crank pin bush (10BA) is specific to S7 wheels I believe, the Slaters fine scale wheels i have bought still have the threaded pin though the back of the boss, the down side is that the crank pin, bush and nuts are not included with the wheels and have to be purchased separately, but we do have 2 different styles of crank pin nut, a flanged hexagon or a round with 2 flats. I will post some pictures tomorrow if I get time.
