LBSCR Open Carriage Truck

I've taken your comments on board, Chaps, and I'm going to give the paint a week or so to dry and think again. There are a three hinges per end and rivets and tie bars/handles fitted to the sides which are all making me hesitate about rubbing down. But, as I said, I'll give it a week or so and then get back to you.

You could also use a fibreglass scratch pen, I use this for refining my weathering of wood affect.

We'll, as you can see, I couldn't pluck up the courage to sand down the paint a re try. With all of those fittings and nuts and bolts sticking out, I just felt that getting any sort of abrasive close to would be a disaster. I used to be able to spray 7mm okay so, not sure what has changed with this larger scale. Obviously more practice is required. This truck isn't fitted with screw couplings but I may change them latter. I painted the springs and W irons with Railmatch Weathered Black but the axle boxes have been sprayed with Halford's matt black. The photo shows quite a contrast between these two blacks but in reality, it's not so bad. The mahogany is by Precision.

No telling how it looks in the flesh, but the photo looks good. I like the safety chains, though even in G3, Im not sure Id want to couple them in use.
