This is another one I've had a while but a recent article in the RailExpress has spurred me on to do a bit more at it.. Its gonna be D6511 GSYP body is albeit done and bogies were albeit done till I saw the one afore mentioned and it made mine look even more rubbish. Ive removed the cast whitemetal steps so i could remove the airbrake pipes which were cast into bogie sideframes in whitemetal I have now replaced them with wire ones which go right into the cylinders ive also fitted brakeshoes too which I foolishley omitted before :vista: :headbang: Look a bit better now anyway... Ross..

yes, the more the better!!
I'm impressed with how good the Lima 33 can be made to look... how much of an original Lima do you need though? Looks to me like just the body shell; all the rest is other parts.?

Ah, yes.. just looked again and noticed the belly tanks...
I think Ross did do one without the Lima chassis, but I would have thought it would be a lot of extra work.......I think he's had more 33 through his works than Eastliegh  ......... sorry for swearing Cynric (E+stliegh)

Hi, Just been on ebay and had a look at that 27 project, not sure about the bufferbeam the cab door grab handles and one or two other bits think whoever gets it gonna have a fair bit of work to get it to look something like.. good find though  I always have a sneaky look on ebay at lima im always suprised how much lima coaches fetch on there... Ive attached a pic of a 27 i made from same kit some time back Its taken on Phill garden railway.. Ross..

hi ross thats a nice looking loco  they look better in blue yellow , yes your conversion is going to be the biz the fan on the one on the bay is still a lima moulding etc re the lima mk ones i managed to snap up a couple of modified lima coaches with cast bogies fine scale wheel sets correct buffers and 3 link couplings ,all the hard work done  . they just need a repaint , but i might wait out for some three cees coach sides in br maroon they will look good with my class 22 pulling them .

What do you think of the roof detail on the Heljan 33? Especially the airhorn grills, electrical vents etc.
I haven't studied in great detail as I will be sticking with my Lima conversion ;) , I was asked by Brian Daniels about a year ago if I thought it was a good idea for Heljan to produce a 33 & I said then that I thought it was pointless producing a class that was already available when there are so many other class's that could have been produced by Heljan :headbang: . What I would like to see Heljan produce are class's 25,31,42/43,45/46 & 52
Cheers Phill
