From Llangunllo to Llanbister Rd.

The Titley end fiddle yard.

You did say you'd given it the full scenic treatment!

It was indeed taken from the fiddle yard Richard, but you've jumped the gun as its still very much a case of work in progress.

I wasn't going to work things up scenically from this viewpoint, but a suggestion from a certain magazine editor made me think again. So at the moment I'm slowly composing the picture that I have in my minds eye. Seamoss is just being used to mock the trees up for now, and this morning I found myself scribing stonework into the dairy walls, and adding some more corrugated sheeting. I'm not giving too much away at this point, but come this time next week the dairy might be a touch larger ;).

A little more progress, slates and rainwater goods should arrive in the post in the coming days. The new half relief dairy extension is removable for operating sessions, not that it needs to be, just thought I would play safe. The track on which the tanks are stabled has been infilled with stone sets, scribed into card.

Whilst work on the layout continues I've been breaking off now and again to work on a rake of three Parkside 16t mineral wagons, one of which can be seen on the left. A batch of what I'm hoping will be decent trees is also being worked on at the same time to help avoid boredom.

Another lovely scene Geoff, cracking work both modelling & photography wise!

Keith

Cheers Keith, as I've said before my camera does all the hard work, I just point it in what I hope is the right direction. :)

Life got in the way of modelling last week, I don't recall signing up for childminding duties when I retired.
I somehow managed to fit, and paint the rainwater goods on both dairy buildings, and this morning the roof of the new building was covered in slates.

Both buildings are removable, and were not exactly level when I took this photo a few hours ago. As I mentioned a couple of posts ago, the slates and ridge tiles are from the York Modelmaking range, still plenty of work to do yet but I'm in no rush.

Not a wisp of steam in sight today, but plenty of exhaust fumes.

Just to let you know, you're not the only one - seems like there's an unseen childminding pressgang about...!!

I really like that last b&w shot Geoff, lovely!

Llangunllo just gets better and better and the B&W shot could have been taken by Ben Ashworth. Utterly lovely.

Thanks for your comments and likes chaps. I've been checking a few more angles, this morning, and came up with these photos.........

When the early morning sunshine streams through the modelling room window it creates some interesting effects. Can't say that I care for the colour of the corrugated cladding though.

Now its back to 'Steam Day's......

Like the 'Teddy Bear', my old 'Dean Goods' sees very little use. This shot was taken blind as I couldn't see through the viewfinder, so it was down to sheer luck, mind you it needed straightening, and cropping.

With the dairy almost complete, I'll be turning my attention to completing a batch of trees. The idea is to shield what is supposed to be a farmhouse with young saplings, however the trees nearer the bridge will be mature specimens.

Another half baked idea is to use a mirror at the far end of the fiddle yard, which, should my idea work will give the effect of the track carrying on into the distance. The edges of the mirror being disguised by the outline of a wooden footbridge, modelled to a smaller scale.

Geoff.
